I'm thinking that Lindy Chamberlain killed JonBenet. Azaria was being groomed for stardum too. Lindy was in America when JonBenet died. The Chamberlains LOVED Thailand. Hmm. I'm thinking.
My back is killing me. I just took two Nurofen Plus'. C'mon, codeine, start doing your thing.
The suspense over my meeting with my boss shortly is killing me as well.
Yesterday I told him I was bored and he said not to look for another job. So today he's going to give an action plan. Death!

EKKA Showday! [Aug. 16th, 2006|10:46 am]
[Current Location |work]
[mood | calm]
[music |handbag la la crap]

Today is Show Day, a "Brisbane" Public Holiday. It's the official Ekka Holiday day. JD and I came in to work late. Dropped Patricia off first at Central Station as she's taking the train to Pomona, where she will be in a ten-day buddhist retreat. She stayed with us last night after a few days at the beach. After Pomona, she may head over to Perth with Jakki on a road trip. They would go see the Big Rock (Uluru - or Ayer's Rock) on the way.
Anyway, we came in to work after we dropped her off. I didn't come in yesterday due to "general malaise". That's what I told my boss when I rang him up whilst JD was enroute to work via ferry. "Sorry, Chris, can't come in today. I've got general malaise". So it was going to be a day for me to pack boxes as we're going to be moving from the townhouse in to an apartment soon. Well, I couldn't help myself, could I? I just felt like going for a drive, so I drove out to the beach and walked along the esplanade for three hours. Then I came back home and fixed myself a nice cooling vokda and read the paper from cover to cover (albeit with several more cooling vodkas). We came in today because a lot of our clients do not live in and around Brisbane, therefore it is a normal working day for them. For me, this not a normal working day at all. In fact, I only came in to check my emails and such and shall be going out for coffee shortly!

Ekka Days in Brisneyland [Aug. 14th, 2006|09:57 am]

On Saturday the Junkyard Dog and I headed over to the Ekka - Aussie-speak for the "Exhibition" Showgrounds where the annual RNA (Royal National Association) holds their 10-day extravaganza. Basically, it's Queenslands answer to a big kick-ass country fair! A LOT of fun, especially when one parks oneself at the Woodchopping Arena, which happens to be adjacent to the Woodchopping Bar, where one can drink between the chops. We had the most fortunate experience of seeing the National Under 18's compete and Australia's Governer General was on hand (with wife and mother-in-law) to hand out the awards. Later in the day, walking around in a lovely beer haze, JD won a humungous stuffed Bulldog, the size of a dishwasher. There's something for everyone at the Ekka. And everyone was there. Another good reason for all my foreigner friends to come to Brisbane in August. The weather is perfect - 70's in the day, cool at night, the Ekka is on, and there's many many other things to do in and around Brisvegas. Met up with a few friends at the Ekka and then again on Sunday did a bit of calling in on folks. Popped in to see the Guru, who has just come back from Malaysia for an extended visit. We smoked a peace pipe together as he related his magnificent experiences whilst in Kuala Lumpar. I drifted home, drank a glass of Red, and visited foreign planets as I slept.

Lunchbuzz [Aug. 9th, 2006|01:40 pm]
I couldn't resist having a pre-lunch drink down the pub whilst I waited for my partner to come back with the take-away sanger. Got myself a pint and joined the frequent drinkers club. The barmaid was delightful, gave me four stamps to start with. Pretty soon I'll have a free Irish Pub tee shirt and a lot of points that will enable me to drink even more. I had avoided this particular pub because of their high prices, and usually park myself for afternoon tea at a lovely little Italian eatery where I drink a glass of house Red and read the obituaries. But now that I'm an offical frequent drinker, I've got options. And options are good, right?
